Recright leverages AI to analyze video interviews and streamline recruitment processes, but candidate privacy and human-led decision-making are our top priorities. Here we explain how AI is used and how we ensure its safe, fair, and GDPR-compliant application.

Data Stays Within the EU/EEA and Complies with GDPR

  • All data is stored and processed within the EU or EEA.

  • We are ISO 27001 certified and fully comply with GDPR requirements.

  • Data is not used to train or fine-tune Recright’s or other AI models.

    Examples of data locations:

    • Amazon models for transcription use data centers in Ireland.

    • Google Gemini models are processed in data centers in Finland.

    • In the future, we will also use Microsoft Azure models located within the EU.

AI does Not Make Decisions – Humans Do

AI is used solely to support the recruitment process, for example:

  • Generating transcripts and summaries of interviews

  • Highlighting additional information for human evaluation

  • All decisions regarding a candidate’s suitability or progression in the process are made by humans. AI does not score candidates or make automatic selections.

AI Does Not Access Personal Data

  • AI does not know the candidate’s name, gender, age, or ethnic background.

  • This helps prevent potential human or systemic biases in evaluations.

  • Transcripts and summaries are based solely on the content of the interview.

Candidate Awareness and Consent

  • Candidates can be informed about AI usage as part of the normal recruitment process and privacy notice.

Example text:"The recruitment process involves AI-assisted processing of personal data. However, AI is not used for automated decision-making or profiling under GDPR. All evaluations and decisions in the recruitment process are made by humans."

Minimizing Bias

  • AI analyzes only the transcribed interview content – not voice, name, or other personal information.

  • The models we use are designed to identify and reduce bias. (Here’s a link to Google’s page explaining their approach to reducing bias.)

Summary

  • Recright’s AI is designed to support recruitment, not make decisions. Data stays within the EU/EEA, personal data is not shared outside, and all evaluations are conducted by humans. AI usage helps reduce bias and makes the recruitment process more efficient and fair for all candidates.
